Your New Puppy:

Weaning puppies starts about three to four weeks of age. The start of puppy weaning begins a few weeks before your pup(s) will be totally and completely weaned. Like clockwork, our Dam tends to start weaning at three to four weeks, which is why we are able to let you have your puppy as soon as eight weeks and allow you to enjoy more of their puppyhood, as well as forming a strong bond with them.
We choose to only vaccinate for parvo, so your pup will be coming to you with one vaccine. This allows you the choice to vaccinate according to your choices, however we deeply encourage you to read the information we will send on common puppy diseases and how to prevent them if you choose not to vaccinate further. In addition to rabies the two following vaccines are the most common: Parvo & Distemper. We have included a brief explanation of how to keep your pup safe from these diseases if you choose to delay vaccination or if you choose not to vaccinate. Your veterinarian will have a vaccination chart to explain regular puppy vaccines and their appropriate timing.

Parvo: Contracted from still water, eating/licking any other animal feces (that might carry the disease, or ingesting the disease from a contaminated surface (aka, keep your pup from licking or eating things that are not THEIR food/water bowls). Since its unknown which feces carry it, we encourage a close eye kept on the pup so NO feces, still water, or contaminated surfaces are ingested. Parvo is a very fast acting (3 day average) disease that often ends with loss of life.
Distemper: Contracted by contact with infected urine, blood, saliva, or respiratory droplets. Most commonly coughing, sneezing, or contaminated food or water bowls. Puppies (2 yrs and under) and elderly dogs are most susceptible to distemper. Keeping your pup healthy, clean, and exercised along with watching to make sure they do not lick unknown things as a pup will help insure he/she does not contract this disease, or can fight it if he/she does. Even contracted as an adult, distemper can leave neurological affects with your fur baby. This disease is sometimes fatal as well.
Rabies: According to Texas State Law, Health and Safety Code Chapter 826.021 all dogs/puppies are required to be rabies vaccinated by 4 months of age.

Pick Up:
We do not hold puppies longer than 9 weeks.  We ask that you pick up at 8 weeks of age, a few days of flexibility are allowed for puppy pick up timing. If a pup is not picked up on their scheduled pickup date, it may go to another client without refund of the deposit.

Health Guarantee:
To the best of our knowledge the puppy will be free of signs or symptoms of disease, or congenital defects as of the date that the puppy leaves sellers. Puppy will be vet-checked before going home with you. Please note for the purpose of normal male development expectations in puppies, the testes develop near the kidneys within the abdomen and normally descend into the scrotum by two months of age. In certain dogs it may occur later, but rarely after six months of age.

*** There is a twenty-four-month health guarantee provided buyer agrees to and completes having the puppy examined by his/her veterinarian within 3 business days of the time buyer takes possession of puppy. If the puppy is found not to be in good health within those 3 business days, the puppy may be returned for a replacement puppy or a possible refund per sellers' discretion/choice minus the credit card fees, taxes, and nonrefundable deposit incurred by the original transactions. If within 24 months of birth the puppy is found to have a congenital health defect that adversely affects the quality or length of life, or if the puppy dies due to a congenital health defect, the seller will replace the puppy at no charge, except possible travel expenses incurred by buyers to come get the replacement puppy, or the sellers may offer a refund minus the credit card charges incurred by the original transactions. If the puppy is still alive, the puppy must be returned before a replacement puppy or refund will be sent or given.

This Health Guarantee does not cover sickness or death that is preventable by the following:
1. Keeping your puppy up to do date on its vaccinations.
2. Keeping your puppy away from environments that may risk its health or well-being in any way.
3. Taking your puppy to normal veterinary checkups.
4. Providing an appropriate amount of food, shelter, and containment measures to ensure the well-being of your puppy.

Veterinary proof of discovered congenital defects must be provided before a replacement puppy or refund will be provided.  Sellers are not responsible for veterinarian costs incurred by buyer or for costs of returning the puppy back to sellers.  The following circumstances will render the health guarantee void. Your signature below indicates you have read and understand each circumstance:

  1. Proof that the puppy was seen within the 3 business day time frame must be sent to sellers within 7 days of the date the puppy was transferred to buyers, or the health guarantee is void.

  2. The health guarantee will be void if there are any signs of abuse or neglect leading to health issues for the puppy.

*We may use any pictures you send us of your puppy, and any shared comments as part of our testimonials, and will only use your first name and last initial.
*You will be provided a file with paperwork including health records, registration forms, pedigrees, and more.
*If for whatever reason you are unable to keep your golden retriever at ANY age, we ask that you offer him/her back to us first. Your payment will not be refunded but we would like the opportunity to rehome or take him/her as our own. These golden retrievers are not just puppies to us, they are prayed over and given immense time, love, and attention. We care deeply about who they go to and often might choose to keep them for ourselves! 😊

By signing your name below, you, the buyer, agree to purchase and care for a Golden Retriever Puppy from Ryan and Kristen Rahel.          A copy of this contract will be provided to Buyer(s).
